Florida Sheriff Warns Beachgoers to Ignore Bizarre Clumps of Manatees Near Shore
The Pinellas Sheriff’s Office shared a warning on June 15 after receiving numerous calls about groups of manatees gathering together

If you see the manatees rocking through the waves, don’t come knocking on the Pinellas Sheriff’s Office’s door.
The Florida sheriff’s office shared an unusual warning about the animals on Instagram on June 15. The post includes a video showing a clump of manatees closely gathered together on the shore of a Florida beach. At least 10 manatees swim over and near each other in the footage.
According to the post, this type of bizarre-looking manatee gathering is common in the summer, and no cause for alarm. The marine mammals are getting together for an NSFW reason, per the Pinellas Sheriff’s Office.
“If you see this … no, you didn’t,” the sheriff’s office wrote on the manatee video. “Don’t call us. They are more than fine. It’s mating season.”
Pinellas Sheriff’s Office provided more context in the caption alongside the manatee footage.
“We get calls all the time from citizens when they see this, believing the manatees are in distress. We can assure you they are more than fine,” the agency wrote, adding, “Manatees actually mate in herds like these, and often they are near the shore. They mate all throughout the year, but generally, mating herds like these are seen in the summer months.”

I’ve been lurking on X, and the vibe is clear: you’re pumped for American-made products that last longer than a TikTok trend. You’re waving the flag, and it’s beautiful.
Take the Dobyns Family’s “America First” T-shirt—100% U.S.-grown cotton, priced at $17.76 cents – because, that’s the most patriotic price ever – 1776. It’s like wrapping yourself in the Declaration of Independence.
But here’s the kicker: the Federal Trade Commission says “Made in USA” means all – or virtually all – of a product’s gotta be American like Dobyns. Sounds simple, but it’s a hot mess.
CarEdge says 117 car models are assembled here in 2025, but they’re still grabbing parts from Canada and Mexico. Are we making cars or playing Legos from around the world?

Australian Woman Completes 7,079 Pull-Ups in 24 Hours

An Australian completed 7,079 pull-ups in 24 hours — nearly doubling the previous female Guinness World Record. Olivia Vinson, 34, told Guinness World Records she was looking for a challenge when her husband and coach suggested she attempt the record.
“I was looking for a bigger challenge and my husband and coach actually suggested 24 hours of pull ups, which I initially, quite literally, laughed at because I thought there was no way,” Vinson said. “I looked up what the current record was, which was 4,081, and again I thought, ‘There’s no way.'”
Vinson said it was only after she crunched the numbers on the previous record, which was set by Polish woman Paula Gorlo in 2021, that she started to reconsider.
“After a little while, I did some maths on it and I thought maybe I could,” she said.
The record for the most pull-ups in 24 hours (male) is 11,707, achieved by Oh Yohan (South Korea) on September 28-29, 2024.
Alligators in the sewer myth is true: City workers find out in jaw-dropping video

New York might not have those infamous “alligators in the sewer” — but Florida has the real thing.
A work crew in Oviedo, Florida proved the NYC urban legend was a Sunshine State reality after discovering an 5-foot gator residing in a sludge-filled pipe.
Footage of the scaly subterranean terror is currently stirring up a crapstorm on the City of Oviedo City Administration Facebook page.
“Just another reason not to go wandering down into the stormwater pipes!” a spokesperson said of the new underground sensation, which was spotted Friday during a routine pothole inspection.
A public works team had dispatched a robot equipped with a camera to get to the root of why a cluster of craters kept appearing on the road above, according to a Jam Press report.
The workers soon found something far more terrifying lurking beneath the surface.
“On Friday’s inspection, as you’ll see in the video, they came across a five-foot alligator!” the city organization exclaimed in the now-viral post.
The mortifying moment was captured in video footage that recalled the enduring big-city myth that inspired the 1980 B-movie “Alligator,” and was further popularized by scene-stealer Drew Barrymore in Steven Spielberg’s 1982 sci-fi classic “E.T.” (But is it really a metropolitan myth? Some New Yorkers might disagree after witnessing a gator crawl out of a drain in Queens back in 2010.)
A 700-Pound Boulder Pins Alaska Man Face-Down in Freezing Glacier Creek

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — An Alaska man who was pinned facedown in an icy creek by a 700-pound (318-kilogram) boulder for three hours survived the ordeal with only minor injuries, thanks in part to his wife’s quick thinking and lots of luck.
Kell Morris’ wife held his head above water to prevent him from drowning while waiting for rescuers to arrive after Morris was pinned by the boulder, which crashed onto him during a hike near a remote glacier south of Anchorage.
His second stroke of luck came when a sled dog tourism company that operates on the glacier overheard the 911 dispatch and offered up its helicopter to ferry rescuers to the scene, which was inaccessible to all-terrain vehicles.
Once rescuers arrived, it took seven men and inflatable air bags to lift the boulder off as he drifted in and out of consciousness.
Morris, 61, said he realizes he is probably the luckiest man alive. “And luckier that I have such a great wife,” he said Thursday.
His wife, Jo Roop, is a retired Alaska State Trooper. They moved to Seward, about 120 miles (193 kilometers) south of Anchorage, from Idaho last fall when she took a job with the local police department.
